AUTO-INFLAMMATORY SYNDROME INDUCED BY ADJUVANTS: IMMUNOPATHOGENESIS AND NOVEL THERAPEUTIC STRATEGIES
Fedir Hladkykh
ABSTRACT. Adjuvants have traditionally been used to enhance vaccine efficacy by increasing antibody titers and preventing infections. Recent research emphasizes their role in regulating adaptive immune responses, enabling more effective immunization strategies tailored to specific pathogens. Vaccine adjuvants encompass a broad range of chemical compounds that interact with antigens to stimulate the immune system. With recent pandemics, the demand for new adjuvants has grown, though their use can lead to undesirable effects, including autoimmune disorders like ASIA syndrome. This syndrome highlights the need for novel therapeutic approaches, such as vanilloid receptor agonists and acellular cryopreserved biological agents, which possess immunomodulatory properties to correct autoimmune responses and restore immune function.
